Ron Allen Announces 2nd Album: Diaspora - Jan 1, 2026

As Strobe Records celebrates its 35th anniversary, label founder and Canadian house pioneer Ron Allen delivers Diaspora — a bold, vibrant, and deeply musical follow-up to his 2025 album Underground Harmonics featuring a new remix of the classic house hit by Helen Sharpe "Got 2 Have Your Love" and a special collab with Detroit techno master Omar S and more. Where Underground Harmonics leaned into classic deep House architecture, Diaspora widens the horizon: more soulful, more global, more futuristic, and unmistakably more personal.
Ron Allen has long been a quiet architect of North American deep and soulful house — JUNO-nominated as early as 1992 — but Diaspora feels like the moment he steps into a new era. It’s a journey through cultures, eras, and dancefloor energies, but always grounded in the timeless Strobe sound: warm basslines, spiritual chords, emotional vocals, and drums that swing with purpose.
“I named the album Diaspora because my sound has never come from just one place. Over the years I’ve absorbed soul, jazz, gospel, disco, african and latin rhythms, Detroit techno, Chicago house, combined with Toronto’s multi-cultural vibe — each influence traveling with me, shaping my sound."
With Diaspora, Ron Allen delivers the strongest and most expansive album of his career. It is:
- Deep and soulful at its core
- Afro-infused and globally inspired
- Melodically adventurous
- Technically polished yet emotionally raw
- Designed for DJs and dancers, not algorithms
The result is a 14-track journey that bridges generations — from Strobe’s early ’90s deep-house origins to the global, hybrid house movement of 2026.
"In many ways, my musical journey mirrors a diaspora of sound — rhythms, ideas, and traditions that have moved, migrated, and blended across time and borders. These influences settled in me the way cultures settle in new places: reshaped, reimagined.”
If Underground Harmonics was a return to form, Diaspora is a declaration: Ron Allen is still shaping the future of soulful, deep, and underground house — 35 years on.
A must-hear for DJs, house lovers, and anyone who lives for groove-driven music with history behind it.
