About the release

The Sound of Light Volume 1 collects 15 remastered Strobe Records classics from Toronto’s early-’90s house underground.

The compilation brings together key catalogue moments including Subculture featuring Marcus, The R.A.S.E., Hayden Andre, Kingdom Come and Helen Sharpe. Across deep, melodic, percussive and soulful house, it documents the independent sound Ron Allen and Hayden Andre developed from 1991 onward.

For DJs, collectors and new listeners, the album is both an accessible catalogue entry point and a working set of remastered club records. It preserves Strobe history in a form ready for contemporary listening and dancefloors.
