“+8 Tapes” collects seven Psyance tracks by Ron Allen and Hayden Andre from the project’s early Plus 8 era, spanning bleep techno, deep tech and Detroit/Windsor soundscapes.
Psyance—the Ron Allen and Hayden Andre duo connected to Plus 8 founders Richie Hawtin and John Acquaviva—opens its early archive on “+8 Tapes.” “Motion,” “E.Q.,” “Andromeda’s Dance,” “Gates Of Heaven,” “The Answer,” “Fission” and “8th Dimension” trace a world of bleeps, deep-tech pressure and beautiful machine atmosphere.
For DJs, the seven-track set offers far more than historical context. It supplies focused tools for classic techno, minimal, acid and adventurous house programming, all linked to the Toronto–Windsor–Detroit corridor. “+8 Tapes” captures the sound of a scene discovering new dimensions in real time—and makes those discoveries playable again.
