About the release
“The Verge” is a remastered Infra-Red track from the 1991 “2nd Phase EP,” reconnecting Ron Allen and Hayden Andre’s deep-house foundation with digital DJ culture.
“The Verge” comes from Infra-Red’s “2nd Phase EP,” one of Strobe’s biggest early releases and a key Ron Allen–Hayden Andre collaboration. Remastered for digital release, the track reflects the meeting point between classic house depth, machine rhythm and the Detroit influence running through Toronto’s underground.
The restored edition lets DJs place an authentic 1991 cut into current sets without relying on a vinyl transfer. It can add raw period texture to deep house, connect house with classic techno or serve as a less predictable selection from the label’s formative catalogue. “The Verge” is early Strobe in motion: foundational, direct and still playable.
