“Get On Up (Groovy Disco Mix)” is Ron Allen’s 1991 Strobe dancefloor hit, later featured on Defected Glitterbox’s “Love Is The Message” compilation.
“Get On Up” stands among Ron Allen’s defining early Strobe dancefloor records. The Groovy Disco Mix combines a hands-in-the-air vocal impulse with a disco-flavoured house groove, creating a track that is immediate, communal and built to move a full room.
Its later inclusion on Defected Glitterbox’s “Love Is The Message” compilation introduced the record to another generation, but the core appeal remains unchanged. DJs can use it as a classic peak, a bridge between disco and house or a heritage moment that still feels alive rather than reverential. Put your hands together—the record does the rest.
