About the release
“Sound Of Light” is a remastered 1990 Aztech production by Ron Allen whose title directly inspired the name Strobe Records.
Ron Allen’s 1990 Aztech release “Sound Of Light” occupies a unique place in the Strobe story: its title directly inspired the name of the label he would co-found. Newly remastered and edited for digital release, the track preserves the exploratory house and techno language of Allen’s pre-Strobe period.
For DJs and historians, the record is both origin story and usable club music. It can connect early Toronto electronic production with Detroit-influenced sets, add rare archival depth or introduce the Strobe catalogue through the track that helped name it. “Sound Of Light” is where an idea became an identity.
